Hi, I am Niki

I am a designer from a small village near Amsterdam, I DO Illustration, graphic & Clothes design

In my work I love to portray some sort of order and control with a whiff of boho and contemporary vintage feel. I work with certain boundaries and then embrace the unexpected happening. That means the rational approach has as much importance as the intuitive. Digital and analog.   

For use on textile, paper, screens or walls. I work on the graphic side of just about anything. I make illustrations for print and patterns, (look)books and logo's.

I studied. Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, finished in 2005. BA Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design. I received a grant from the Mondriaan Fund, I made a fashion-art exhibition, I worked in film as a costume designer and stylist. I had a independent clothing label sold in various stores in the Netherlands and worked at a brand-strategy firm as an adviser.

Drawing is my first love, it once got me into art school. Later used it while I designed collections as a fashion designer: all the artwork around a collection, lookbooks, prints for clothes, thank you cards, etcetera. I love it. I like to draw.
